Israel’s neighbors have attacked her so many times that we have lost count. Fortunately for Israel, each time they have been attacked, they have won. And each time they win, the calls for Israel to give back the land they won with blood and treasure start immediately, and never cease.
Antony Blinken elicited the following comments during debate on his confirmation as Assistant Secretary of State by Sen. John McCain in 2014: “I rise to discuss my opposition to the pending vote concerning Mr. Antony ‘Tony’ Blinken, who is not only unqualified but, in fact, in my view, one of the worst selections of a very bad lot that this president has chosen…In this case, this individual has actually been dangerous to America and to the young men and women who are fighting and serving it.”
Well, Secretary Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan have two obsessions. Two absolute go-to positions. 1. Be good to Iran. 2. Two-State Solution.
That’s it.
So, let’s talk about this Two-State Solution. That involves the Palestinians having their own state. The blood had not even been cleaned up on the kitchen walls of the kibbutzim before we heard Blinken and Co. start spouting “Two-State Solution…”.
Now, I know that some of you are actually paying attention and you say - hey wait a minute, doesn’t bringing up the Two-State Solution at that point implicitly place the blame for the Hamas atrocities onto Israel’s shoulders? They are basically saying “If only there were a Palestinian state, then you wouldn’t have these problems. Your obstinance is what brought these crimes to your people. “
It is time for the Israelis to start acting like every other country in the world. When you get attacked by your neighbors and succeed in defeating them, keep whatever land you were able to get your hands on. That is basically how history has worked. And that’s fine, as long as it is not Israel who won.
According to the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies’ (dohainstitute.org) recent polling throughout the Arab World, 67% of those polled view the attacks of October 7th as legitimate resistance and only 4% support recognition of Israel as a state. 79% of the residents of the West Bank view the attacks as legitimate. Hamas’ leaders have repeatedly stated that they are only interested in a one-state solution, a Palestinian state where Israel currently resides.
Exactly who are the Israelis supposed to speak to about handing over the keys to Gaza and the West Bank? Why are they supposed to believe that the residents of either do not mean them harm when given the opportunity? Who are the moderate leaders who have spoken out against the brutal tactics undertaken by Hamas?
We have previously written on the subject of trying to find a path to achieve a Republican Congress in 2024 with comatose Joe still at the helm. It seemed like a good idea at the time. At this point, though, I don’t see how Iran can be stopped unless Trump is re-elected. I can put up with a lot of domestic unrest and endless silly tweets at this point if the bargain gets us a President who will put a stop to the Iranian campaign against Israel and the U.S. Clearly, Biden, Blinken and Sullivan have no intention of doing anything other than appeasing the mullahs.
Last point - if you have not read or seen the speech by Argentina’s new President at Davos, you must! He expounds on the theme of our last piece, that valuing individual freedom is the only way to achieve collective prosperity. Brilliant stuff. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/read-javier-mileis-entire-speech-to-the-wef-debunking-socialism
